Each platform in brief
LeetQuant
164 original problems across 10 topics that you answer on the page and get checked automatically (fractions, decimals and percentages all accepted), tagged with 24 firms, with a curated Quant 75 list, long-form interview guides, and timed firm-style OA mocks (Optiver, Flow Traders, Akuna, Maven, SIG, Five Rings) plus single-skill mental-math, sequence and probability drills. Every problem shows its acceptance rate; you rate each one easy, medium or hard, star the ones you want to keep, and revisit your hard list whenever you like. The bank is smaller than the big paid platforms.
QuantGuide
The most widely recommended paid question bank, with 1,211 questions organised by topic and tagged by firm, plus a free mental-math game. Free users can answer non-Premium questions and see whether they are right; worked solutions and hints for all questions are part of Premium.
OpenQuant
Fully free for candidates: all 190 questions come with complete solutions that include Python simulation code, and there is a mock online assessment and a games room that includes Optiver 80 in 8. It is paid for by employers posting jobs, so it doubles as a quant job board. The bank is smaller than the paid platforms.
TraderMath
The specialist for timed online assessments: firm-specific mock tests (SIG, Akuna, Citadel Securities, DRW, Flow Traders and others), 22 mental-math, trading and estimation trainers, and new market-making drills. The two-week plan suits a short pre-assessment sprint, and students at some universities can get discount codes.
Quantable
A large bank of 1,500+ questions with 600+ free to attempt, plus 500+ pages of written study material for paid users. The four-month plan lines up with one recruiting season. Solutions and hints are paid, including on the free questions.
Which one should you use?
- You have a trading firm online assessment in the next few weeks: TraderMath, for its firm-specific timed mock assessments and trainers. OpenQuant’s free mock assessment and games are a good complement.
- You want the biggest bank to grind by topic and firm: QuantGuide or Quantable, which have the most questions of the five and firm or topic filtering on paid plans.
- You don’t want to pay anything: OpenQuant is free with full solutions. LeetQuant’s problems, answer checking and worked solutions are free as well (only its timed practice tools need a membership), so the two together cover a lot of ground.
- You want answers checked and material that sticks: LeetQuant. You type your answer on the page, it is checked automatically, each problem shows how many people get it right, and you can rate each one and keep a list of the hard ones to revisit. All 164 original problems, with answer checking and worked solutions, are free; a membership adds the timed firm-style OA mocks, longer drills, rankings and a readiness report.
- You are preparing for a risk or portfolio role: LeetQuant has a dedicated Portfolio & Risk topic alongside probability, options and market making.
Many candidates use two: one large bank or OA simulator, plus one tool that checks your answers. Start with our Quant 75 list or the interview guides.
